Life Skills Education for Children and Youth in Hong Kong

At Launchpad, we specialise in Life Skills Education for Children and Youth in Hong Kong.

Through my association with young children I realised the importance of early education for babies, toddlers and children. I also noticed that Domestic Helpers play a very important role with families in Hong Kong. Besides their household duties, Domestic Helpers often spend more time with children than their parents, who are busily working. With the aim to reach and educate more young children and supporting their parents, we have created courses to educate Domestic Helpers and upgrade their skills to improve their caring and playing with young children.

Children are like little learning machines - every day, and in almost every way, they are learning. Through playing, children are creating pathways in their brain which will help them develop even more skills. All this activities will greatly help them before they enter school for a more formal learning environment. Both, Parents and also Domestic Helpers play an important role in supporting a child's early learning and development. Early home life and experiences have the strongest impact on a child's development and future success.

Playing is the most effective and powerful way for young children to learn. Through playing, children are constantly exploring, discovering and learning. When children play, they literally exercise their brain cells and make them expand and grow. Playing activities help children to develop many skills, including social skills, creativity, vocabulary, reading, math comprehension, emotional expression, problem solving and more.  

We introduce simple Educational Playing Activities which are aimed to develop and strengthen the bond and relationship with the child and enhance a two-way communication and interaction, and not activities which require the child to be passive, sit back and watch. Most of these Educational Playing Activities can be set up by basic home items, instead of buying expensive toys.

Our Domestic Helper Courses will educate and equip Domestic Helpers to confidently handle their job.
